Circa Contests make Westgate look Second Rate

It appears to this poster that Derek Stevens is looking to crush the Westgate Super Contest into submission.

Bigger prizes, guaranteed money and no take out. To me the Westgate got greedy with their 8% take out years back and didn't learn at all.

The Golden Nugget shouldn't even bother holding a contest, there's no handicapping done in that contest, all they do is play the line moves and nothing else. We've seen this in years past and it should stay retired.

Nevada overall is going to have issues maintaining what they have now anyway. Arizona will be online by football season, then New York and Florida will be full swing. What if California gets its head out of its ass and legalizes. There's no reason to make the drive or short flight into McCarron.

Nevada is going to need to evolve into something different than they are now and I think the football contests will ultimately pay the price. More so Westgate...……….

That's the key that Vegas needs to focus in on................Once remote waging get in full swing it will impact numbers;

But keep in mind Vegas has one of the best "Vacation destination " moniker in the USA and that will help the economy ...But as legalized gambling spreads state to state it will be a game changer;

and Vegas will need to adapt !

That survivor contest looks fun but I know Thanksgiving is its own week and then something happening at the end of the season is its own week (like you have to play either tb or kc or something like that I cannot remember)

The goal for Stevens is that you have to physically sign up at the Circa and then hopefully you will gamble at his casino.

Most casinos see sports books as a loss liter. The 4 1/2% margin pales in comparison to slots and table game margins. That’s why you see them lease out the sports books. But then it attracts people like us and we bring the wife’s who play the slots and so forth.

Westgate had 3300 entries the year before.. I
The drop to1172 was due to the virus and all the unknowns with the upcoming NFL season. Some like myself signed up with Circa the past year with the enticements they were offering.

The Westgate 8% rake will take hold in the long run as more people see a better alternative. Westgate is living off its past..

You have to physically sign up at the Westgate as well, there's no difference. They both get you in the doors. What happens after that is up to you.

Circa is looking pretty good compared to Westgate.

And the Westgate responds by dropping the 8% fee and lowering their entry fee to $1,000 along with other changes. I say too little too late and they are scrambling to compete. Why cheapen the contest to make it look like your as good as the Circa. They are the standard bearer and rather than just take the 8% out of the mix and keep it at $1,500, they come off cheap sounding. Just my view...

The six three-week contests will pay out $75,000 for first place, $25,000 for second and $5,000 for third. The three six-week contests stretch out to pay the top five: $100,000 for first place, $50,000 for second, $10,000 for third, $5,000 for fourth and $2,500 for fifth. That prize money is all guaranteed, coming out of the total SuperContest Classic prize pool.

Anyone entering the SuperContest gets a ticket into the Super Suite Deal, a raffle that includes: four nights at the Westgate (Dec. 29-Jan. 1, checking out Jan. 2); four tickets in an Allegiant Stadium suite for the Pac-12 vs. Big Ten Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 30; four tickets to the Westgate's New Year's Eve party; and a round of golf, food and beverage for four at Las Vegas Country Club.

Theannual SuperContest Weekend festivities are set for Aug. 28, highlighted by the scramble-format golf tournament. There will be 10 SuperContest entries given away in raffles, as well. The golf tournament is $90 per player, and the event is capped at 90 to 100 players.
